Resolume
Bring a Resolume composition’s slices into the Video Slicer.
Overview
Resolume import is part of the Video Slicer, not a separate tool. It sits alongside the importers for Avolites Ai, Pixera and Green Hippo — you open the Slicer, import, and the slices arrive as editable regions.
Earlier versions of this page described a standalone “Resolume Converter”. There is no such tool on the home screen; the conversion has always happened inside the Video Slicer.
When to Use
- A composition already mapped in Resolume that the rest of the show needs to know about
- Reconciling a Resolume output map against the physical screens in Show Elements
- Taking an existing map as the starting point for a new one
Step-by-Step
- Open Video Slicer.
- Import — the panel offers Ai, Resolume, Pixera and Hippo.
- Pick the Resolume
.xmlcomposition. - The slices arrive as regions you can edit, rename and link to screens.
What comes across
Slice geometry and naming. What a composition file does not carry is as important: it has no canvas dimensions of its own, so the Slicer works the source size out from the extents of the regions it finds. If the composition had unused space at the edges, that estimate comes in small — check the source canvas after importing and correct it if needed.
