Your Workspace

Fifty-odd tools on one screen. Search, favourites, pinning and ordering are how you stop scrolling past the ones you never use.

Overview

The home screen lists every tool, grouped into sections: Calculators, Tools, Managers, Show Library, Reports & Documentation, Configuration and Boring Stuff.

Nobody uses all of them. The screen is meant to be rearranged around the four or five you actually reach for, and it remembers how you leave it.

The box at the top filters as you type.

It matches more than the tool’s name. Most tools carry keywords for the things people actually search for — the format, the protocol, the manufacturer, the job:

Type thisAnd you get
mvr, lightwright, gdtf, patchManifest
resolume, pixera, hippo, disguise, vscVideo Slicer
ltc, mtc, smpteTimecode Tool
avery, brother, labelsTag It!
prores, hap, notchlc, ffmpegMedia Transcoder
run of show, ros, changeoverStage info & crew
sacn, art-net, dante, osc, ptzProtocol Manager
watts, amps, socapex, distroPower & Generator

So you do not have to remember that Resolume compositions are imported in the Video Slicer, or that MVR files land in the Manifest — search for the thing you have and the tool that takes it comes up.

Favourites

The star on a tool row adds it to a Favorites section that sits at the top of the screen, above everything else.

This is the one worth doing on day one. A show is usually four or five tools used repeatedly; starring them turns the home screen into a short list with everything else still available below.

Pinning

The pin sorts a tool to the top of its own section, without pulling it out into Favorites.

Use favourites for the handful you live in, and pins for the one tool in a section you reach for more than its neighbours — the Timecode Calculator among the calculators, say.

Reordering and collapsing

Drag a tool to move it within its section. The order is yours and it sticks.

Click a section heading to collapse it. If you never touch rigging maths, collapse Calculators and it stays collapsed.

What is remembered

Favourites, pins, section order and which sections are collapsed are stored per machine, not per show — this is how you work, not a property of the production. They survive restarts and show changes.
